The Unhappy Boy
 Once, there was a little boy named Peter. He was always unhappy. He always said that he did not have the and he did not have that.
          One day, he saw his friend with a pair of new shoes. He was very unhappy so he cried. He wanted new shoes, too.
        His mother took him to town. They were walking along the road. Suddenly, Peter stopped and looked. He saw a man in a wheelchair. The man had no legs.
         Peter turned to his mother and said, “Mum, I have been a very naughty boy. I was never happy. Now, I see that I am very lucky. I shall never be unhappy anymore.”

STORY 1: The Lion And The Mouse

          There was a big and strong lion. It went to sleep under a tree. A little mouse came and ran all over the lion. It woke up and caught the little mouse.
The angry lion roared,” I’m going to eat you!” The mouse cried, “Please don”t eat me! Let me go!” The lion felt sorry for the little mouse and let it go.
One day, the lion was caught in a hunter”s net and cried loudly for help. The little mouse  heard the mighty lion”s cries. It went to help the lion.
     “Don”t worry, Mr.Lion. It”s easy, and I will get you out.”
The little mouse made a big hole in the net with its sharp teeth. At last the lion was free. It said,”Thank you very much. You may be small but you have saved my life.”

STORY 2: The Grasshopper and The ant
           Once upon a time, there was a small grasshopper. He lived in the jungle. He liked to play. He did not like to work. So, everyday he sang and played in the jungle.
           One hot day, he saw an ant. It was carrying food home.
         “Come and play with me. Do not work so hard,” said the grasshopper.
          “I’m sorry but I cannot play with you. I must look for food and carry it home. It”s already two o”clock,” said the ant.
          “That”s a lot of work!” said the grasshopper.

          “My father says that we must work hard when the day is sunny. When it rains we cannot look for food. You must look for food too,” said the ant
          “ Why work so hard?” said the grasshopper. “I have food now. I want to play.”
          The ant looked at the grasshooper sadly and walked away.
          After a few days, it rained heavily. The rain did not stop. The jungle was flooded. The grasshopper could not go out. It did not have food to eat and it was very hungry. He said,” Why didn”t I listen to the ant?”

     The story tell us that we must work hard.




STORY 3: The Golden Seaweed
       A long, long time ago, there lived a man named Teck Soon. He was a fisherman. He often went to sea to catch fish.
       One day, he took his boat out to sea. He threw his net into the sea and waited. After a while, he pulled his net up. He was very happy. Inside the net, he saw parts of a golden seaweed. He pulled the golden seaweed in the boat. It was very long. He wanted more of the seaweed. So, he pulled and pulled.
        A bird flew past and chirped, “Cut! Cut!” The greedy fisherman did not listen to it. He pulled and pulled. The boat was geeting heavier. It slowly began to sink. In the end, the fisherman was drowned with his
Golden seaweed.
